The Proud Host City

Birmingham residents gaining the maximum benefit from hosting the Commonwealth Games is one of the city council’s six key priorities.

Long after the 11 days of sport in 2022 are over, Birmingham and the West Midlands region will benefit from a £778 million investment. From the redevelopment of the Alexander Stadium that will provide world-class facilities for community use, to the creation of new jobs, Birmingham 2022 will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to put the city, region and its people on the global stage.
