Projects between £1,001 and £5,000

What happens to your application?

Once you have submitted your application by the deadline of 30 November 2021, you will receive an acknowledgement by email.

Birmingham City Council will then undertake internal due diligence to review (desktop appraisal) and ;assess all acceptable applications on a case by case basis. Any applications that do not meet the funding criteria will be returned to be strengthened and resubmitted within a set timescale.

If successful, you will be asked to complete a written or video summary about your proposal, clearly explaining what the project is about, how it aligns with this funding and how people will benefit from taking part with it.

Each eligible application will be considered at a ward forum or specific grant fund meeting where ‘community voting’ will be encouraged to enable the residents within each ward to vote for their favourite proposal. You are encouraged to attend the Ward Forum meeting, but it is not mandatory.

After the Ward Forum meeting or specific grant fund meeting, Elected Members within each Ward will submit one set of endorsed proposals into Birmingham City Council for final stage approval by delegated Officers.

Successful applicants will receive confirmation letters, along with Conditions of Grant Aid (COGA) forms that applicants will be required to comply with. Projects can commence once COGA forms have been signed and returned.
